COLLEGE STUDENT HEALTH SURVEY (CSHS)

CLIENT:

Boynton Health

DESCRIPTION:

Developed in 1995 by Boynton Health at the University of Minnesota, this survey was the first population-based health assessment of college students in the country. It later became the model for the National College Health Assessment, which was developed by the American College Health Association.

This online survey has provided a comprehensive look at college student health to over 70 different community, technical, and four year institutions. The survey has been administered by OMS since 2015 to over 30 schools, and focuses on eight key areas: health insurance and care utilization, mental health, alcohol and drug use, tobacco use, personal safety, financial health, nutrition and physical activity, and sexual health.

RESULTS:

The 2018 CSHS Survey was administered to a random sample of over 29,000 students across 18 different college campuses around Minnesota, including all four University of Minnesota campuses. The final response rate was approximately 36.6%.
