Presentation and Conference Highlights
OMS Director Shelly Wymer was invited to be a keynote speaker at Washington State University’s Qualtrics Day. Her presentation will focus on survey governance in a University setting and the steps she has taken to improve Qualtrics governance at the University of Minnesota. As head of the University of Minnesota’s University Survey Advisory team (U-SAT), Ms. Wymer has been leading the efforts to govern surveys across the UMN system since 2010 with the goals of reducing survey fatigue and increasing response rates.
OMS Assistant Director Stephanie Klein was invited to present at the Bluenotes MENA 2018 located at Zayed University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The conference theme is ‘Using Feedback Data to Lead the Way to Improve, Enhance, and Shape the Future of Education. Her presentation will focus on the use of eXplorance Blue to implement a successful Student Rating of Teaching Program. The University of Minnesota has been using eXplorance Blue as its enterprise solution for student ratings of teaching (SRT) since 2015. Dr. Klein’s presentation will provide some global visibility for both the University of Minnesota and its prestigious Student Rating of Teaching initiative.
Daniel Glover, OMS Senior Program Coordinator for SRT’s, recently attended the Bluenotes Global 2018 Conference in Louisville, Kentucky where the conference theme was "Full Steam Ahead: Using Data to Lead the Way to Improve, Enhance, and Shape the Future of Higher Education.” His presentation was entitled “Getting Information to Those That Need It: A Look at Using Dynamic Report Viewer and Other Methods for Extracting Information from Blue.” Mr. Glover also received recognition at the conference for his 2017 presentation entitled “Blue Advanced Relationship Tables (ART) and Other Musings,” for which he was given Bluenotes Americas Award for Best Presentation.
Other upcoming conferences that OMS plans to attend and present at include the Bluenotes Global 2019 Conference, the Association for Institutional Research Upper Midwest Conference, the 2019 Qualtrics X4 Summit, and the 2019 International Field Directors and Technologies Conference.
