This article describes how we at the Office of Measurement Services collect enrollment information for the Student Rating of Teaching (SRT), and how we compute response rate for each course. It will enumerate some of the challenges associated with that task, and solutions in place to generate the most accurate report possible. Student Learning Outcomes and Student Development Outcomes
With the new SRT, teaching is more holistically assessed and results are relevant to the classroom experience and linked to the new student learning outcomes. In the future, additional items to the core set of items will be written that includes assessments of the student learning outcomes, and possibly the Student Development Outcomes.
